Binukot is a word for confinement, seclusion, or restriction. The root word Bukot means be blanketing, swaddling of oneself. This was a pre-hispanic exercise which still exist up to this day in some part of the country. Nanay Lucing, was one of the daughters of the Binukot, her mother was obviously a Binukot, but nanay Lucing however was not in her time.

Taken in DOT conference hall Ilo-ilo City, October 01 2016. We tried to asked Nanay Lucing to perform a traditional dance, and she did not refused which gave us a feeling of being honored

She is a wife of GAMABA   awardee Federcio Caballero, a prominent chanter of SugidanonFederico Caballero or Tatay Pedring,  is a Sulod-Bukidnon epic chanter from Kalinog, Ilo-Ilo City was wearing a scarf made by Nanay Lucing.

She tied it on my head before we took a photo. I was proud of this moment having a pose with her. This scarf cost some hundreds yet the embroidery, and the effort is more than a thousands or more   Me with Nanay Lucing, A daughter of a famous cultural practice called “BINUKOT”.
